KEEPING THE FRONT DESK STAFF UPDATED ON UPCOMING EVENTS
The front desk is the center of activity due to the fact that they get calls asking questions about the activities at the school. Please keep us updated so we can encourage process and participation in these events. They need to know if you take your class off campus for any reason with your contact information. Also, if you switch classrooms please let them know.
This is a community space shared by many as well as an office space for some staff members. Please clean up after yourself.
COMPUTER CART SIGN UP AND KEYS
The main building has three (3) Computer on Wheels (COWS) located in designated classrooms. If you want to reserve a computer cart, you must sign the reservation book. Each cart has a color assigned to it. The keys and reservation calendar are on the wall in the staff room by the copier.
SUPERVISION OF STUDENTS
With the increased student population we must minimize the number of students in the lobby and wandering the halls. Please make sure you do your attendance in a timely manner and check with Nicole if you are concerned about a student’s attendance. There should never be a time when students are in the building without an adult. The janitor does not count. If a student wants to work after school, the student must have cleared it with a staff member ahead of time.
WORKING WITH VOLUNTEERS
There are times during the school year where it is necessary to have volunteers help out in your classroom or on a field trip. It is necessary that all volunteers who will have a chance of being left alone with our students have a background check done on them. Please contact Carolyn a few weeks before you need the volunteer to allow enough time for her to contact the person and get the correct paperwork process completed. Emily Borden is also a good contact if you need a volunteer. She will have a list of all volunteers who already are cleared to work at the school.

GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING NEEDS
– Use tarps on the floor when project work is being done
– Use Blue tape or sticky tack on the walls
– Do not put partial drinks in the garbage. Dump out any remaining liquid in the drinking fountain. Do not dump in recycling as that will contaminate it. It is also important to tell the kids the same.
– No dragging anything through the halls.
– Nothing in custodial room
– Do not block electrical or fire boxes
– Do not plug extension cords into extension cords
– No blocking exits
– If you see any concerns regarding safety please let Carolyn know.
